The group sold off the goods and decided on their next move. As they were walking down the street in the municipal district. Two rather large creatures blocked their path and threatened them. The two were nine feet tall with rather large heads and noses. Each had a great sword. They charged down the street at the group scattering civilians before them.
Unknown to the group the large creatures had a spellcaster looking down at them from the walls of the section and also unknown to the group they had a friend who was spying on them at the bequest of Andrew Darkseeker. the new friend noticed the spellcaster getting ready to launch spells at the group.
The fight was brutal and swift with Granite McPherson meeting his demise. The bad guys were dispatched. The group was questioned by the local authorities and allowed to leave with a warning that death seemed to follow them around they would go under suspicion. The group decided that Granite McPherson should be raised and took him to the Dwarvish district and spoke to Bazvar priest of Moradin. Bazvar was relucant to raise a non follower but decided to do so when Delthic agreed to pay the price. Delthic was a shadowy figure in Granite McPherson’s past and the cleric was raised.
During the next day, the city was abuzz with the news of an additional murder of a priestess of Selune the previous night and a large ship of possible Cathayn origin was seen saliing into the bay. The ship was larger than any of the docking areas could hold so it sat off the piers. A boat emerged from the ship and when it docked, the crowd could see a large twelve foot blue humanoid and several humans guarding it. the stranger moved into the port district and visited several of the merchants in the district before retiring back to the ship.
The group was summoned to a meeting with William that night. He explained that the stranger was threatening to saturate the market with pepper, driving the price down and threatening some of the merchants livelyhood. William couldnt allow that to be done and offered the group a proposition to remove the pepper or the ship or both from the area. The group agreed.
The next morning a priest of Torm was found dead.
