CHRONICLES OF BELDORN

END OF FIRST AGE/BEGINNING OF SECOND AGE

Towards the end of the first age, wandering deities chanced upon the Ventri Sphere and looked in on it. The dieties, Tempus, Anduhar and Cyric, all brothers with other dieties who were travelling with them, saw what they perceived to be a weak human pantheon and non human dieties who disliked the human dieties.

Tempus sent Anduhar whom it was said could convince the sun to go dark if he so wished. He went first to speak to the elvish dieties while Tempus and Cyric spoke with the human pantheon which was led by a war god Sarakar to distract him and the others from noticing what Anduhar was doing.

Tempus looked at the land where the races were living It was a large single continent. Tempus just shook his head and decided that he would start over after removing the other human dieities from this sphere. Anduhar eventually convinced the non human dieties that the offending human dieties would be removed and they agreed to remove their people till such time that the humans were gone. In a brutal and swift move, the dieties were exterminated and the human continent sunk.

Tempus then rearranged the land masses to suit the invaders whims and allowed the non humans to be repopulate them. Anduhar, in the meantime, began to create strife among the non-humans. It is said that he convinced the elvish family drow to burn the sacred elvish tree and other acts of trouble among the non humans and well as igniting old hates among the natural enemies.

Tempus then recreated man after promising that he wouldnt. The non-humans, being offended,immediately attacked the new people of the world but Tempus, Cyric and the other dieties made man clever and adaptable to to most extremes and gave them gifts to survive and prosper. War followed for a number of years. The dieties of both sides walked the earth and left destruction in their wake. Anduhar worked his magic on creating strife among the non-humans. Finally the elves decided the price was too high and began to speak for peace. The dwarves and others decided to also speak. Tempus, through Anduhar extracted his price and finally the humans were allowed to stay, live and breed into the dominant race of the planet

Tempus and Cyric then decided that Anduhar was to be removed from the sphere that he and the others had created and part of the price was the forming of a ward by the major races to prevent his return. All involved agreed and Anduhar was expelled, vowing vengence on Tempus and the others. The non human dieties would never again trust the invader dieities.

TOWARDS END OF SECOND AGE

"The brothers Return"

During the second age, the Orcs of the west arose to crush and maim and conquer as much as they could. There were four seperate uprisings. This tale is about the fourth one. This invasion began with the two large groups attacking Narlum(dwarf home) and the great forest of the elves to the north of the main human kingdoms. No uprising had ever been this ambitious before. It was said that the orc in charge Melgnazarth had divine inspiration from Gruumsh.

Usually the wars were over in a matter of months but this one dragged on for over nine months. The dwarves eventually retreated into their fortress and the elves moved deeper into the woods.

In the human kingdoms a strangething began to happen. Mages of all types began to disappear along with their magic. Rumors came out of the woods that the same fate was being done to the elvish wizards. It wasnt known at the time what was involved in the event.

It was at this time a group of adventurers came upon a meeting north of the city of sorcerers. These adventurers saw a man dressed in black who spoke to a contingent of the larger humanoids. The adventurers listened as the voice said “we have duped the orcs, and other goblinoids and they are killing our enemies, soon the surface world will be ours”

The black dressed man sensed two of the adventurers, one who was invisible and another who was in bird form and tried to pursue them but the adventurers escaped. The adventurers reported this to the leaders of the city who ignored the information.

The statemate in the war ended as a previously unknown army invaded the human kingdoms in the south in the kingdom of Radeen. The fate of the missing wizards was finally known. They were being used against the humans. All were under some sort of compuction to fight against their kind.
