And so the Platonic Companions of the Delver’s Dale rescued the Prince in Waiting. But the Prince was cursed and consumed by his shame. Those around worried greatly as foul weather approached and the survivors of the Battle of the Scarp hurried for shelter. The snows came thick and heavy. After celebrations were When they cleared, the forest of the Darkwald was covered in a thick blanket and all burst forth from their cave.
The Goodman Gnomes returned to their tree home and Xan the Wrymling took to the skies. Stephan appeared to have wandered off in the wee hours as had Twill, Cedric and Finch.
Dyffyd, after long prayer and meditation decided he was going to return to Delver’s Dale with Bargle to seek guidance on his captivity. He made preparations to leave. The rescued prisoners also were eager to return to their families. The Platonics were less certain of their next move and had put off discussion.
And so it came to pass that only Iorweth was present at the mouth of the cave, tending his fire and keeping a close eye on the Cursed Prince who muttered in his beard, while Dyffyd prayed within and the commoners milled about.
Of a sudden, Dog growled, Iorweth looked sharp and a cracking and crashing was heard. Suddenly a tree bough collapsed beneath the weight of heavy snows. There was a great cloud of frost and through it! Came crashing a great figure covered in snow!
Dog howled! and Nan the Fisher’s Wife screamed!
