- AD stands for After Dark, marking the time of the Age of Danzig. The Age ended 71 years ago, but the calender is still used by many.
- The first five months of summer have 31 days. The rest have 30.
- Borrowing from the Dwarves, the New Year starts on the day of the Equinox. If needed, additional days are added to Hunger Month to adjust back to the annual cycle.

- DR means Dwarven Reckoning. The library of the Dwarven Codex is said to fill an entire fortress.
- In the Dwarven calendar, the last month is Moradin’s Month, the commemorate Moradin’s reshaping of the world and setting things to balance again for the new year.
- In some texts from the Winter Dark, Danzigenuar was called “Stone Freeze”, Moradinuar was called “Stone Reborn”, and Greeting was called “Moradinuar”.
- Dwarven Months all have exactly 30 days. During New Year’s Feast, additional days are added to restore balance.
- Most dwarves do not celebrate either solstice.
