Drunk in the Temple of Tears

A Brutal Prequel

March 02, 2008 19:14

A Barbaric Murder Mystery in the Frozen Northlands
Featuring Lush Bell, Ranth Two Cups, and Lemany the Sparkler

Out of a haze of lushed drunkeness stumbled Lemany the Sparkler, Ranth Caskbane and the Jugbearer Himself. Roughly challenged to solve a mystery of murdered reavers, at swordpoint no less, the sore headed revelers wandered the frozen tracks of a small Aesir villager encountering natives each less sympathetic than the last.

At last the trajectories of shambling men of ancient provender were followed down to the Temple of Tears, a mind numbing edifice of alien architecture. There, beneath the fiery gaze of the Alabaster God Ollam-Ongu, battle was joined with ancient legionnaires and their mistress, a young lass of the who survived the massacre of the Silver Wolves through the ultimate sacrifice of her soul in exchange for the vengeance of un-life.

Lush leapt upon the shoulders of the Alabaster God and ripped its head from its shoulders, and shattering the eldritch cornerstone of the temple which crashed down around their ears.

Ceremoniously draped in jewels and sent on their way, the vampire slayers journeyed south, their hearts un-rested by the unnatural cycle of savagery that had been so darkly hinted at in the village of Ansuz. And so it came as little surprise in later years when word reached their ears that the whole town had somehow succumbed to its own corrupted bloodlust and been discovered one spring abandoned but for bloodstains.
