In contrast to other knightly organizations, the Knights of Thorellon were not a rigid hierarchy divided into orders, nor did they follow a rigid code of codes and measures. Instead, its members – including disillusioned former knights that fought under the old Dornish Kings during the civil wars of the Third Age – were loosely grouped into cells beholden only to an oral tradition called Thorellon’s Legacy. Named after the Knights founder Thorellon Dunath, the tradition taught a few central virtues without codifying virtue into legislation: to always have the courage to do what is right; to gain strength through self-knowledge; to remain vigilant against danger and injustice; to respect virtue in all its forms; to grant justice to all beings; and to fight for one’s beliefs unto death.

It is believed that all of the Knights of Thorellon died selflessly protecting those who tried to flee the Shadows forces at the dawn of the Last Age. Legend has it that the main stronghold of the knights and their birthplace was on the Plains of Erenhead. From there they rode their horses to meet the hordes of orcs as the Third Age came to an end and slew tens of thousands to their hundreds. None of the knights ever returned to their stronghold.

(Note: Part of this was adapated from a Knight Orginization from the Dragonlance setting.)
