The Edge of Twilight

There is unquestionably no flower as beautiful or as loved as a rose. The Twilight Rose is among some of the rarest roses known in Eredane. It is a peculiar flower and a prized possession.

Roses carry special meaning with each color. The Twilight Rose, an off white or light grey in color and with a tinge of blue, represents to most people mystery, silence and secrecy. To the Kurgun dwarves of the Kaladrun Mountains it is a sacred flower that is a gift from Mother Moon. Many legends tell of the dwarves ability to make great charms from the Twilight Rose.

Many gardeners consider one or several roses a must in their gardens. A properly maintained and cared for rose garden will produce blooms from Sennach until the first frost of Obares. It beautifies the yard and adorns the rooms of your house while providing a light and sweet scent.

Growing rose bushes is easy and rewarding. The Twilight Rose is a small exception. Most roses grow easily in a mostly sunny location and a little gardening basics is all you need to get started. With a little learning you can turn your rose bushes into a perfect bush providing a profusion of roses. Like any other form of gardening the more gardening care and information you know for the particular plant you are growing the more successful you will become.

Twilight roses grow the best when they are positioned to gain the most amount of moonlight as possible. They prefer fairly dry but nutrient rich soil.

Twilight roses bloom only from twilight till dawn and the greatest of all blooms is during those times that only a slice of the moon shines, or as the Sarcosans like to call it “the blade” of the moon. When this happens the twilight roses gives off a glow that can only be called magical. The pollen itself can be seen released into the air and the soft glowing trail flowing through the night breezes is beyond comparison.

During the full moon the Twilight Rose gives off a more vibrant bluish hue that almost pulsates. This is the best time to add water to the ground.

The half moon is when the Twilight Rose turns a slate grey. Legends say that this is the time to pick the petals of the rose to be used in a salve that will prevent a body rising as a Fell.
