Hit points mostly represent a characters luck, defensive positioning, ability to roll with blows suffered in combat, ability to parry, nicks, scraps and bruises and stamina in combat. Only a small portion of a characters hit points represent the amount of physical damage a character can take.

Whenever a character takes more than 1/3 of his total hit points in damage from a single blow that character suffers a wound. With natural healing wounds recover at the normal rate of 1hp per character level per day with light activity or 2 hp per character level per day with complete rest.

All other damage is considered battle exhaustion, luck and smaller bruises or nicks that is recovered after a combat is over.
