The world died a long time ago. Yet a shard of civilization limps on, shepherded by powerful temples and academies – known as Guilds – that vie for supremacy while cooperating to piece together a ravaged lore. For there are many dangers, and knowledge is the ultimate power.

Undead heroes roam the wastes of Vandore, haunting a world that no longer exists even for them. Humanity and its cousins persevere in pockets of habitable land, harassed as always by the monstrous races, ever jealous of their growing ingenuity. Giants, dragons and worse rule the voids between, and alien forces come and go freely, using this broken world as a staging area for their own inscrutable purposes.

Now, you four acolytes of the most hallowed orders journey with your loremasters as they convene in a rare council to discuss matters of the gravest import and secrecy….
