8th of Terranth 444 NC
The Fatesim opens with Jogaila flying. tells him of four tests, and points the way to Hargonithan River which feeds into the Chindonath River. She also explains about four keys, four souls, and four shards. She says Watseka would not be around much longer, that Connor needed his help. She kisses Jogaila passionately and vanishes in a cloud of dust, as his arm begins to burn.
The Oomingmak that Watseka saved begs for mercy, Thrush hands him his spear, and the Oomingmak kills himself.
Getting to an Inn, Jogaila exposes his arm and shows a handprint the same size as Watseka’s and now rolling flame appears just under the skin.
Gellor Keegan begs to be allowed to sleep inside, and he his slapped when he sneers at Watseka for casting on him.
9th of Terranth 444 NC
As the party awakes, they find black cloth draped over the inn, the innkeeper and his wife have been hung and the word traitor painted on the outside. They are heckled as they leave Poldatyn, and Connor screams out a challenge.
The journey to the River gets underway, with the PCs taking turns mocking and ridiculing Gellor Keegan. They once again hear the haunting song of a Snow Hag. Jogaila and Connor discuss what will be necessary in the coming days, and what Jogaila will have to do to regain his people’s freedom. They are visited by an Hush Goblin.
10th of Terranth 444 NC
Gellor Keegan dies during a Hush Goblin attack. Locket with Connor’s parents, Langduin’s ring, and the beginning of a book greatly exaggerating the deeds of the Cerulean Flame. Watseka feels a great deal of magic surrounding Gellor’s corpse.
Reaching the water, Jogaila tosses the cobraheaded scimitar into the rapids. They find a bandit camp led by the half-ice giant Skal. He challenges them to attack a carvan and bring back supplies. Thrush demands something challenging, so Skal tells of Mariner’s Rock, where two caravans usually pass at the same time near high sun, and tells them to bring the supplies back from both.
They reach Mariner’s Rock, which Freeport can be seen in the distance. Thrush moves ahead to find one of the caravans and notices that it is has within it a horrific war machine – a war ballista. It has forty men, and war supplies.
Jogaila speaks to Mariner’s Rock – asking it to move for him. His prayers are answers as his firey arms gains incredible strength, and prepares to push the rock onto the incoming and unaware war machine caravan.
