Chapter 1: The Topaz Championship

- After an encounter with the Imperial Heir, Toturi Ikazuchi, the young samurai were forced into a Duel of Seven Thunders, a rare event that had not been seen in an age. The conclusion of the duel found them forcing Ikazuchi to withdraw his claims of injury, as well as a peasant who struck down the Emerald Champion, Kakita Kazumasa, with a gaijin pepper weapon.
- Before finally expiring, Kakita Kazumasa and a mysterious man who wore the Armor of the Emerald Champion, charged the heroes to take Toturi Tatsu, the Emperor’s youngest child, with them upon their Musha Shugyo, and to show her the way of the samurai.
Chapter 2: Treacherous Terrain
Locations visited: The Shrines of Bushido, Lion Clan; Pale Oak Castle, Asako Province, Phoenix Lands
NPCs encountered: Asako Kato, Master of Air; Hitomi Fuguki, Tattooed Man
- After paying homage to the various Shrines of Bushido across the Lion territories, the heroes were charged with escorting the niece of Asako Kato back to her home in Pale Oak Castle. Along the way, they encountered a Tattooed Man by the name of Hitomi Fuguki, an eccentric and strange (even for Tattooed Men) personage with the remarkable ability to seemingly know someone’s thoughts.
- Sometime into their journey, they were attacked by a maho-tsukai and his underling, as well as a thief who stole some of Asako Ryoko’s notes before vanishing. Fuguki became unstable in an Inn and had to be calmed by the heroes, but not before blurting out blasphemies against the Emperor.
Chapter 3: Compassion

- The heroes were then charged by Moto Temujin, Khan of the Unicorn, to meet Shinjo Gidayu, family daimyo and man given the honor to escort the scrolls to the Phoenix Clan’s Setsuban Festival. As part of the honor guard, the samurai traveled to Kyuden Tonbo to collect the last of the scrolls. They were then beset on the road by ronin, who managed to steal the scrolls.
- After reporting to Gidayu, the samurai were then charged to reclaim the scrolls before the Phoenix Clan discovered them missing. The ronin were in charge of a village, and claimed they wished to have as much right to compete as the Clan shugenja. After some political wrangling, the Masters of Elements relented and agreed.
