Many of them share cultural roots and similar languages while others are separated not only by man-made borders, but difference of thought so deep it may never be crossed, while some have refused to adopt the shackles of civilization and instead choose to roam the barren plains of Ysgrid endlessly.
Savages or scholars, they all walk on the same battered bones of bygone and long forgotten kingdoms: all men are equal to the judgement of time. "

The people of Drystan are divided into three separate groups: The Civilized People, The Savages and The Distant Foreigners. This is made for purely practical reasons and to make the navigation the encyclopedia easier for the reader.
