The pc’s left the castle of Mordikai d’Cannith. They rode west from there through the Mournlands for seven days without incident. On the end of the seventh day, Watcher spotted a small warforged scout tracking them from a rise to their north. He chose not to tell the party until they reached a watch tower to rest at. While the rest of the party rested Watcher guarded them. Shortly afterwards, 4 warforged approached the tower. They questioned Watcher, asking him if he was treated well by the party. Watcher replied that he was for the most part. The warforged asked if he wanted them to help him slay the party. Watcher replied no. The warforged merely shrugged and invited Watcher to join the Lord of Blade’s army. He stated he would think on it. After resting the party rode the remaining three days to Vathirond without incident. The party arrived in Vathirond as night fell and decided to rest at a local inn/tavern named “The Last Stop”. Shortly after entering the tavern Watcher was informed that an old lady named “Ethel” had been asking about him. He was given a note to meet her at high moon behind the Red Boar tavern. He carefully travelled there with Gen’Luk and Aliera following him. There they are ambushed by three hobgoblin assassins. A cloaked figure helps defeat the assassins. The party learns the assassins were hired by the Emerald Claw, who they had recently crossed. They find the cloaked figure is Barquil, Watcher’s mentor. The four return to the Last Stop and Barquil explains he was resurrected by Sovereign Host clerics. He now works for the Dark Lanterns. He asks the parties help in his mission, killing or apprehending Zanorin the Black.
