Tales from the Outer Darkness

During the course of the game the Characters will have a chance to learn and use Ritual Magic. Ritual magic can be used by anyone. It requires access to the ritual itself, the components of the ritual, the number of people required to perform the ritual and the sacrifice required to complete the ritual.

A ritual is defined as a process in which the characters hope to gain a power from an elder or demonic being. Some rituals bind powers to a character, some to the group depending.

Human sacrifice requires the characters to capture what is needed; never in any circumstance can a PC be sacrificed by the other characters or offer himself as one.

Each ritual will be handled as a mini game requiring cards and a card layout. All rituals can cause mutation and loss of attributes. Attributes lost in this way may never be healed.

Soul Energy is the HD of any creature multiplied by 10, For Humans it’s the total attribute points added together plus HP

Life Drain, Some creatures can life drain their victims; any life drain attack removes one HD of HP (rolled random). This damage is permanent. If reduced to 0 hit points this way the character raises at midnight as the same type of undead. To regain the points the attacking creature must be killed and the energy released by use of true silver, it takes a week of rest to regain the points.
