Tyche 7,8 1877 4th age

The group is resting when the alarms go off. They look outside the castle and see several of airships dropping what appear to be boulders on Sonvente, flattening structures.

The group goes into action. Gunter Von Hiesenberg III flies up to meet the enemy. Vanion begins to count the cost of what he is going to cast. [:441]] pulls out a unfamiliar weapon, a bow and Faera-Bael shape changes into a bird.

As Gunter Von Hiesenberg III flies up he is pelted by arrows but he is not sure where and decides to cast improved invisibility on himself. He also cast distingrate on one of the ships cutting it in half. The bow part of the ship tumbles to the ground, carrying some of the enemy with it. The stern part continues to fly. Vanion tears holes in the stern of another vessel but it continues. Both of them are attacked by arrows and spells from casters aboard the vessel.

The damage is heavy to both sides. Vanion is hit by arrows several times, each of the arrows have a poision on them draining intelligence and with that power points. At the end the airships turnback accomplishing their goal of destruction and the group moves the beachead to attempt to aid the gnomes who are being cut to pieces by the elite assault troops of the Firenzian. In the end the group is force to retreat from the fight.

Tyche 5,6 18774th age

The group was meeting with Duncan to celebrate their capture of the Tempus priest. Duncan was remarking that the priests will was being a problem. Duncan had been trying to charm and otherwise convince the priest to give up his secrets. Gunter Von Hiesenberg III suggested spells to lower his will and they agreed to do that in the morning.

During the night the alarms went off waking the group. The sounds of boots and sword play moved them to action. Dressed in their skivvies the group found a group of men with a new type of mask,that of a Falcon, disposing of the bodies of the guards and kelana rushed into the fray with little more than a nighty. The intruders gasped a little at the near naked female elf until she struck one of the warriors. When the warrior didn’t drop and the others struck her hard she realized that this could be a problem.

In the meantime Vanion and the others noted that there were about 15 or so warriors. Vanion prepared one of his more potent pyschic ability and blasted the group. None of them dropped and Vanion swore a bit. The falcon masks seperated and moved towards the heroes. About that time Duncan came out and noticed the commotion and began a song to aid his allies.

The fight continued with kelana continuing to take damage from the falcon warriors. Faera-Bael changed into a bear to fight. A seprpent mask appeared and cast a spell on kelana who shrugged it off and continued. Vanion noticed the stranger and burned through power points in order to fend off the intruder,catching his warriors in the collolateral damage. Finally kelana was free and went out the door to spot a large ship floating in the sky. There were ropes dangling and she grabbed on and began to climb. Inside the fight was turning. The groups magical firepower began to overwhelm the invaders. kelana noticed that there were several crossbows pointed at her and she decided that discretion was the better part of valor and dropped off. She and Vanion noted that in the distance where they were training the gnomes and other non humans flames and a second vessel. Vanion burned through his power points in an attempt to bring one of the vessels down. The flying ships had ranged weapons which dropped flaming spheres on the city.

There was a single survivor of the raid and he was charmed and imparted information to the group. They asked about the flying boats, finding out that there were ten in the fleet They also found out that the priest of Gond in Bergstat was the head of the engineering of the weapons and devices that were being used against the Mirelleans. The group decided to again try to get the priest of Gond.

After teleporting, the group found that the temple was guarded by stone golems. Gunter Von Hiesenberg III pulled out his bag of tricks and brought forth a rhino which attacked one of the golems while the group tried to handle the other one. Vanion again blew the doors off the hinges which allowed kelana to rush inside only to find a Iron Golem inside. Swearing loudly she launched into the attack. The fight was fast and furious and the group destroyed the golems only to face a fully alerted priest. The fight was in full swing with the priest holding his own until Vanion overcame the spell resistance with a ranged touch attack and critted the attack taking the priest down.

Adolph Foehammer was a good mood. The planning session had gone well and although he disliked wearing the armor in the city, it was necessary because of attacks that had happened to Markus the priest of Gond a couple of weeks before. Imagine, non humans trying to desecrate the temple. It was unfortunate that they escaped. Adolphs’ good mood disappeared as a soldier came up.

“Sir, your temple is being attacked.”
“By who soldier?”
“Bears.”
“Bears?”
“Yes, sir bears. There were other shortish humanoids along with them.” replied the soldier in a breaking voice.
“Gather more soldiers and get back to the temple” said Foehammer in a quiet voice. Adolph unshoulder his shield and weapon.

When he got there he saw the beautiful doors had been blown apart and the two guards that were ripped apart by the bears. He notice a large bear in the way. He cast harm on the bear killing it outright. He could hear the sounds of crashing from within. He stood at the door way and noticed figures moving about. He cast repulsion and spell resistance upon hiself and entered. He smiled as the temples defenses could be heard tearing flesh from intruders. He spied that it was the same group that had attacked the Gond temple a couple of weeks before. He went in past the entry down to the hall when he was stopped by a female warrior. A damn elf. He dropped a flame strike down on the intruder which staggered her. He then felt the repulsion spell go down. Somebody had cast dispel on him but the spell resistance spell remained. Good.

A sleet storm came up in the middle of the entry way, causing him not to see the enemy and making footing very treacherous. He was also blasted by a spell that overcame his resistance, This upset Adolph muchly so cast additional spells on himself, Again another spell overcame his resistance along with a spiritual weapon which struck him. He had to heal himself. He then decided to word of recall to the altar. The altar would heal himself.

When he went to the altar, he noticed that there was yet another bear in the temple and tried to set up a blade barrier, but just before he was to cast the spell, he took more damage and the spell failed to materialize. The female elf warrior jumped over the pews and attack adolf. He also noticed two gmomes furiously casting spells at him. The female took damage while hitting Adolph. Eventually the last thing Adolph remembered was a blow from the elf.

When Adolph woke up, he was bound, blinded and gagged and feeling very cold.

Mask 16-18 1877 4th age

After the mis-teleport, the group moved into the northern part of the city of Bergstat, looking for Kristoff. They moved to the temple of Gond, a simple structure to look for him. Rommel Von Helsing commanded a servant who answered the door to get the head of the temple and bring him to the group. The servant who was quaking in his boots told them that the head priest resided elsewhere. Rommel Von Helsing commanded him to get the priest and the group entered. The servant stated that the non humans shouldn’t be within the temple but left in a hurry. The group looked about but a couple of city guards wandered by and challenged the group to identify themselves. Rommel Von Helsing ordered the guards away but they didn’t scatter. Soon the head of the temple came and asked what was going on.

The head of the Gond temple was Markus and he demanded that he be let in to see the non humans thater were defiling his church. Rommel Von Helsing said no that he was in charge and ordered the officer who was with the city guards to arrest the priest. The officer refused and Rommel Von Helsing demanded that the nco near the officer arrest the officer. The nco did but didn’t move far. Additional guards reached the temple as well as the priest of the nearby Tempus temple, Adolph,

Angry words were exchanged and finally the group attacked the priests and the city guard. kelana discovered with her first attacks that the priests were not going to be easy to hit and Vanion discovered that both the priests had spell resistance. Adolph stepped forward and cast harm on kelana although she saved she didn’t feel good about it. Markus cast locust swarm on the goup. Faera-Bael cast sleet storm and dropped the visibilty. The fight went on for a period of time. Most of the group was in single digits for their hitpoints when Gunter Von Hiesenberg III teleported the group back out.

The group made a decision to go back and take out the original target, a supply depot which they did with relative ease.

Mask 10-15 1877 4th age

A couple of days before… Faera-Bael woke to the sounds of the measured step. He was aware that he was in a metal box, blinded, bound and gagged. He felt terrible. A quiet commanding voice spoke to him a in voice asking questions although in a language that he didn’t understand. Finally the voice began to speak in his language.
“Your friends think you are dead and I am your only friend. Of course, my friendship is limited to how truthful you are.”
Faera-Bael winced in pain and felt near unconciousness. “Tell the the truth and I will be your friend.” Faera-Bael shook his head no.
“Ok, you will never be alone and we will make sure that you cannot rest and food is limited.”
Faera-Bael could hear some excitement from outside the room and the measured step person stepped out. Then the clanging against his cage began.

What appeared to be several days later, and with pain inflicted on him each day, the measured step appeared, spoke to him briefly, inflicted more pain and left.

The group, back in Mirelle discussed their options and again decided to go back to the castle to retrieve thier items. Gunter Von Hiesenberg III teleported the group back to the castle and allowed Rommel Von Helsing to take the lead. Rommel Von Helsing commanded the guards to leave the group alone and marched to the primary meeting chamber where they found Faera-Bael and two men beating on the cage that he was in. Rommel Von Helsing commanded the two men to stand in the corner which they did with puzzled looks. In the meantime a guard wandering into the meeting chamber and cried for the alarm. A fight ensued with the clones of Helmut and Detrich Meinungsfrauenmorden attacking also. Detrich Meinungsfrauenmorden drew out a bag and pulled out a lion which attacked Vanion. The fight lasted for awhile, Faera-Bael went down and the others were taking serious damage. Finally the clones went down and the group retrieved the bag and teleported back home.

Gunter Von Hiesenberg III raised Faera-Bael and the group discussed the traitor that had betrayed them. Gunter Von Hiesenberg III communed and found that Kristoff was the traitor but he hadn’t been seen since the group came back. A scrying by Gunter Von Hiesenberg III spotted that the traitor was crossing the river. The group teleported back to Bergstat but an error in the teleport brought them somewhere to the north. The group made it back to Bergstat.

Mask 6-10 1877 4th age

The group stood at the doorway discussing their options. Only kelana had any real protection, but it was decided that the group needed their items back and pressed up the stairs. There they were met by a group of soldiers who seemed to be low level guards for the area. Despite being out armored the group was pressing forward. kelana was like a machine cutting wheat when the group was hit by a wall of fire from Helmut nearly taking papis down. The melee continued soldiers fighting and magic being launched. Helmut disappeared and was replaced by Detrich Meinungsfrauenmorden and the fighting continued. In the meantime…..

Rommel Von Helsing tried to get down to the fight but was told to report to the throne room with his family. Henrich Von Helsing gathered the sons and Detrich Meinungsfrauenmordenand disappeared from the throne room only to be a chamber that Rommel Von Helsing had never seen before. The eldest brother Heinz began to pull some levers and Henrich Von Helsing began a discussion with a priest of Gond until Helmut appeared in the chamber bleeding profusely from many wounds. The priest of Gond began to heal the wizard and Detrich Meinungsfrauenmorden disappeared.

The fight down in the dungeon continued at a furious pace. kelana was only alive due to the healing abilities of Gunter Von Hiesenberg III, papis went down. When Detrich Meinungsfrauenmorden appeared, Gunter Von Hiesenberg III cast dimensional anchor on the psionist. Helmut returned to the fight to cast additional spells. In the meantime Heinz explained that the levers were to seal off the lower castle and introduce a gas into the lower part of the castle. It was also at this time that Rommel Von Helsing discovered that Faera-Bael was still alive in another part of the castle.

A series of lucky breaks allowed the group to finally overcome the warriors, the psyker and the wizard and the group teleported out with the bodies of the psionist, wizard and papis. They reappeared back in Mirelle at the estate at Sonvente. It was discovered that papis spirit had fled from his body and was in no position to be recovered.

Henrich Von Helsing and his sons went down into the lower parts of the castle and found only bodies of the troops and none of the advisors. Henrich Von Helsing became angry and ordered his sons to find his advisors but mentioned something about clones in his anger. Rommel Von Helsing found his way out of the castle and began to make his way back to the Mirellan border.

The group also had a problem. There was a traitor somewhere. Gunter Von Hiesenberg III spoke with the two dead advisors and attempted to discern information. This took several days for the spirits of the two advisors were strong. They questioned the three main allies about this but got nowhere.

Mask 3-6? 1877 4th age

Gunter Von Hiesenberg III awoke to a measured step of a person wearing a hard boot. He couldnt speak, see or move. He discerned that the boot steps came from above him. It seemed to circle around him at a distance. He spoke. It was in Firenzian. The voice was cold and calculating.

He then heard other footsteps and the sound of a cage opening. “The elf first” the calculating voice said. Gunter Von Hiesenberg III smiled for they were going to use the druid to do whatever they were going to do. The druid could wild shape out any shackles. The voice started “wake up my friend as I force you to recall source of any pain that you may have suffered in the past”. A cry of pain assailed Gunter Von Hiesenberg III’s ears.

“Now that I have your attention elf, remember again the pain that you have suffered in the past. Again a cry of pain. Then one of the other voices swore and yelled out that the elf was changing shape. The calcuating voice told the others to strike it and again mentioned pain.

The next sound woke up the others in the group. It was the sound of large animal tearing something apart, sounding like flesh. The calculating voice never wavered even after a second rending sound came to Gunter Von Hiesenberg III and the others ears. “Pain” was the single word uttered and the group heard a thud and the slow measured walk.

kelana was pacing at the bottom of a thirty foot deep hole in the ground hearing most of the conversation and the action. She was without clothing and angry about not being able to aid her friends.

She heard the thud, the slow measured walk and a gutteral sound that she associated with the Firenzian language. The door opened, voices spoke. The calculating voice said something and left. The other voices were of one of general disgust and the sound of somebody above retching.

Rommel Von Helsing stood with his remaining brothers while their father Heinrich was demanding that Rommel determine who the member of the weasel clan who helped kill his sibling. Heinrich allowed himself a small smile when he told the sons that the group responsible for the death had been brought into Bergstat. They had been sold out by somebody. His smile got a bit larger when he announced that Detrich (Dr. Jest) was here to interrogate the prisoners. Detrich marched into the room, wearing his Cat mask and walking with the measured step that he always had along with his ramrod straight back and long black hair. Detrich announced that he had started the interrogation of the prisoners.

Rommel Von Helsing found a way to excuse himself from the proceedings and moved down to the dungeon. He found a way to distract the guards and entered the prison where he noticed the blood on the floor and that he could only see papis, and Vanion, He went to Papis cell and unlocked the manacles that had bound him. Rommel Von Helsing explained that there was a secret exit from the dungeon and that they should take it. Rommel Von Helsing left and returned to the meeting of his father.

In the meantime Gunter Von Hiesenberg III found a clever way to use ghostsound to help him to release his bonds and he freed his mouth and eyes. Soon the group was released within the prision room. A try at the main door brought little success so the group went into the secret exit and found that it dropped to the sewers of the city. The group ran into a spider which they dispatched with ease. The group found the exit and came up in an open market. None of them were wearing any clothes and they were all foul smelling from the sewers.

The crowd fled away from the group but a single guardsman tried to stop the group and was torn apart by Vanion who was angry about his imprisonment. Gunter Von Hiesenberg III had the group retreat back into the sewer and kelana took the body of the guard back into the prison to strip him of his armor and weapon. Gunter Von Hiesenberg III had decided that the group would need to get its gear back instead of escaping. Climbing back into the prison cell the group got the door open and rushed to the top of the stairwell and attempted to open a second door and took a considerable shock and retreated back down into the prison.

Lathlander 28-Mystra 4 1877 4th age

The group moved to the hills looking for Klaus, by passing the hamlet of Baden. They moved up into the Neustat hills, fighting off the cold chilly rains that seemed to strike them as they got there. The group spent several hours climbing the chilly hills before calling it a night. The next morning was still rainy with a bit of cold. The hills them selves seemed not right. What shadows there were made no sense in relationship to the light.

Finally, they spotted the castle up along a high cliff side. With on side of the trail being a vertical climb and the other side a vertical drop the group came upon two columns, one on each side of the road. As the group moved past the columns black lightning bolts attacked the front group,damaging the druids bear, and Kelana, both ran in fear from the bolts. They were stopped by Pappis who cast a web spell on the two of them. Vanion also tried the space between the columns and was also blasted and ran in fear. After retrieving the compatriots the group climbed up and round the columns. The castle was before them and they knocked on the door. The knocker on the door asked a question, the group responded and the door was eventually opened. Adjusting their eyes for the darkness within the room the group was startled by the appearance of a thin man with a goatee and stringy hair. He was Klaus. Gunter presented the offer from Duncan and the others. Klaus said that he would ponder it and give the group an answer in the morning. He offered them the room that they were in for the evening. In the morning Klaus came down with a document and told the group to present it to Duncan and the others.

The group teleported back, presented Duncan with the document and relaxed for a couple of days, training the Gnomes in some of the weapons that group had captured.

The group was given another assignment, to go to the city of Bergstat and destroy a supply center within the city. The group left and decided to travel away from the river around the Larue Hills. They came into the town of Arcy, where they helped rescue a small child who had fallen into a well. The group was feted and a celebration ensued. They all crawled off to bed. About 3am Kelana who was the only one awake heard a noise and tried to wake the others with no success. Kelana was a little unsure of her footing. The door opened and several men went in and were suprised that somebody was still standing. A short fight ensued but Kelana went down.

The group awoke to find themselves in chains, naked….

Henrich Von Helsing sat quietly on his burnished brass throne, peering through his mask at the nervous messenger told him a message that he could not believe. One of his sons was dead at the hands of a non human group. With an effort not to cut the messenger in half, he asked “why wasn’t his body returned?” the messenger shivered at the tone of the statement.

“I don’t know for sure sire but his body was taken by the non human group along with someone of the weasel order.” Van Helsing tensed his body and cocked his head and said “The weasel order? who was it?” The messenger looked down trying to find a place to hide on the stone floor. “We don’t know sire, we are trying to have diviners find out, but there seems to be some sort of blocking magic going on.”

“I want the Ritter Reinheit(knights of purity) to pursue these brigands and capture them so I may personally cut off their heads and feed them to the pigs in my fields”. Henrich stood up quickly and pointed to his advisors. “Find me Dietrich for I have use for his skills.”

Lathlander 28,29 1877 4th age

The group looked over the pile of rocks and skulls and other trinkets left by the now dead Gnoll/beastman group. Each of the spellcasters felt a surge of mystical energy about their body. While doing the searching Faera-Bael came back along with his bear. Faera-Bael spoke to the group about the surge that each was feeling, that this was a place of power. Marking it on a map the group moved on.

The group continued to move through the forest the next day. Faera-Bael bear began to sniff the air about the group. Investigating, the group found a pile of dead Firenzian troops. Investigation of the dead bodies revealed that they were literally ripped or slashed apart. There were no signs that any of the troops were able to flee and there were large catlike prints about.

That night Faera-Bael heard a strange cat crying out so he shapechanged into an owl and began to scout the area. He noticed a white glow with no discernable shape within it. Faera-Bael returned to the group and they all proceded to the glow. What they found was an old column, apparently a monument to a battle in the past. The group began to investigate it when a translucent lion appeared before them. It spoke of being bound to the monument. Gunter Von Hiesenberg III tried the break enchantment spell on the beast but failed to remove it.

Another glow appeared, a much larger one with a similar translucent cat who threatened the group and it was attacked. The cat seemed resistant to spells and seemed to be able to dodge out of the way of the various attacks. The battle went on for awhile and Gunter Von Hiesenberg III was killed. It was decided after the fight to reincarnate Gunter Von Hiesenberg III yet again and he was reincarnated as an halfling.

The group left the woods and continued across the open tall grasses, It was noticed that the Firenzian flyers were out and parallelling the party. The group was attacked during the night by the Firenzian troops and a wizard where were defeated.
