Shadows of the Past

Following the events of Last Testament, questions about what happened with Merci are left unanswered. Moving backwards in time, the fourth campaign begins near the beginning of the third iteration. Seven hundred and thirty years from the end of the Belzahar War, darkness spreads from the heart of their defeated empire once more. With magic being weakened and made rare by the Dragon Wards, the lands of man are in danger from a foe they cannot fight. Heroes once again rise to the call, coming together to unravel the mystery of what ended the Belzahar War, who a strange man named Tykal Eashi was, and the identity of a great evil named Ryl’Avar. Estelle de’Vir leads her fellows deep in the ruins of the Belzahar Empire to stop Ryl’Avar from entering the world and ending all life using a set of ancient artifacts known as The Blade of the Eclipsed Moon and the Nightstone. At the final confrontation between the heroes and Ryl’Avar, Estelle banishes the evil entity from the world once more by using the artifacts, but not without a fragment of its evil taking seed in her bloodline, unbeknownst to her. This seed follows her bloodline down the millenia until the right conditions are met to awaken Ryl’Avar’s influence. Four thousand five hundred and thirty-one years later the fragment awakens after the final battle of Last Testament in Estelle’s heir, Merci.
