Elves
Elves
The first of the five Elder races, the Elves were tasked with the care of the land and it’s creatures. The vast majority of elves remain loyal to this taske prefering wild and undeveloped areas where they build minimalistic structures in harmony with their surrounding enviroment. Perhaps owing to their long lifespands, Elves are a conservative race making them slow to embrace change and slow to accept outsiders into their communities. In those rare cases though where Elves enter into an alliance, whether with an individual and their progeny or an entire nation, they are fanatically loyal and trustworthy allies.
Physical Description: Although generally taller than humans, elves possess a graceful, fragile physique that is accentuated by their pointed ears. Their eyes are wide and almond-shaped, and filled with large, vibrantly colored pupils.
Society: Elves feel a bond with nature and strive to live in harmony with the natural world. The typical Elven community is a village run by a council of elders.
Relations: Elves maintain distant, though cordial relations with most races. However, they are often met with suspicion by Dwarves owing to their history with the Eladrin.
Alignment and Religion: Most elves are pantheistic or panentheistic. Most elves are neutral good.
Adventurers: Many elves embark on adventures out of a desire to explore the world, leaving their secluded forest realms to reclaim lost or stolen elven magic or to seek out environs different from those in which they were raised. Elves generally eschew melee because of their frailty, preferring instead to pursue classes such as wizards and rangers.
Factions: Over the millenia several offshoots of the Elven race have come into being, most prominently the Eladrin and the Drow.
