The cloven hoof

The cloven hoof

The Cloven Hoof is “the” premiere Inn of Hidroth Lea. Located at the bustling northern corner of the King’s Highway and Commonwealth Plaza, this upscale establishment is the Inn of choice for traveling nobles, wealthy merchants, adventuresses and anyone else who can afford its rates. Thick slabs of decorative granite and marble form the base, steps, entryway and chimney of the building. The second story of the building is crafted in the Tudor style, it’s prominent cross gables and half-timbering being composed of Naid Alder (to keep out the damp), and its wrought iron mullioned windows were imported directly from Glindell. Above the doorway of this Inn hangs the bust and hooves of a White ram. Just inside the building is a foyer lined with coat hangers. The foyer opens into a spacious dinning area with a large granite and marble fireplace to the east, a partially enclosed taproom to the west, and a stairway leading to the second story at the north end. Above the mantle of the fireplace hangs yet another Ram’s bust and pair of hooves. The room’s furniture was also crafted by the Gnomes of Glindell, and is made of Odothian Ceder that fills the room with a fresh woodland fragrance. The legs of tables and chairs are carved, ending in cloven hooves. Mistrals are often employed during the evenings to do soft instrumental pieces. The taproom contains an admirable selection of exotic alcohols, and the Kitchen boasts one of the finest chef’s in town, second only to that of the Head Chef of Hidroth Palace. Cozy sleeping quarters are located in the second story of the building. The Inn is owned by a distinguished and amicable middle aged merchant named Master Divrend.
