Welcome to Diamond Lake

The party gathered in the rough-and-tumble mining town of Diamond Lake, brought together by divine guidance, the search of lost lore, and the promise of wealth and glory.

Brynne was a half-elf cleric of Pelor from the Free City of Greyhawk, driven by a god-granted vision of a wakening evil hidden deep with the Cairn Hills. Isseldra Silverlake was an elf bard from Celene, intrigued by Brynne’s vision and curious as to where it would lead them. Kaspar was a solid mercenary with simple hopes for a better way of life.

Together they proceeded into a tomb a day east from Diamond Lake – there they found mysteries and monsters. Fighting past savage wolves which had made their lair inside the cairn, Isseldra discovered strange writings related to the element of air spread throughout the walls and ruined artifacts found throughout the tomb.

Deeper within they encountered a large chamber with a large sarcophagi and seven short tunnels radiating out from the main room. The sarcophagi was set on an arrow-shaped base and had a bas-relief image of a strange hairless man on it, with the index finger of his right hand missing. The corridors were lit by different colored lanterns hanging from long chains, though two had gone missing. One lantern the party found earlier, but another was no where to be found.

Brynne discovered one of the radiating tunnels had a shaft leading to a higher tunnel, so the party decided to explore it. Unfortunately the tunnel was trapped by a large stone face which proceeded to mesmerize the party and blow them down the tunnel with gale-force winds, causing them to plummet down the shaft. Death was imminent, but they survived.

After some rest and recovery, Isseldra discovered that the sacophagus could actually turn on its base. From its position pointing towards the orange-lantern corridor, it was turned to the yellow, then green corridor. When it hit green, there was a grinding sound as the stones in the floor at the far end of the corridor fell downwards, released a swarm of beetles and a strange spider-like abberation with clawed feet. After a viscious battle which almost left the party dead, the party retreated back to town to recover and make new plans.
