
Session Events:
- Giant spider web found, with bodies strung up in it.
- Oren the Ox shows himself.
- He had been told by the party to watch Narrier, so when the thief escaped, Oren tracked him all the way to the woods.
- He was chased out of Cliffside by angry citizens.
- When asked about how he used to terrorize the village, he doesn’t recall it. He says all remembers is being trapped in a maze, and having Itham “Stone-Speaker” free him from the maze. Thereafter, he was taken to Sanctuary and used as a guard.
- The heroes continued on to Cliffside, and left Oren outside the city limits.
- They heard rumors that Narrier tried to buy guards to accompany him back into the woods, but none would have it. Finally, he bought a horse (was grossly overcharged by the stable master) and galloped off to the west.
- Samara convinces the stable master to lend them horses, and they take off after Narrier.
- At Sanctuary, the party finds that Lord Alain has awoken, though he is still not in his right mind.
- He mentions that he was undecided on what to do about the spring, and would welcome their counsel on the issue.
- In exchange for saving his life, he has offered to have everyone some armor commissioned by Galan “half-hand”, free-of-charge.
- Radurak offers a skin full of the spring’s water to take to all the sick of Sanctuary, starting with the soldiers and craftsmen.
- Another rain storm begins!

Session Events:
- The adventurers find the spring, which is an oily black color.
- A massive black willow tree lurks there.
- The adventurers inspect the tree, but seem to find nothing strange about it.
- When they reach for a drink from the spring, the tree attacks!
- With terrible, strangling vines it entangles several of them at a time, and swallows Elwe whole.
- The adventurers attempt to talk the evil down, but he is not very reasonable, and steadfast in keeping them from drinking from the pool.
- Radurak Bloodmoon’s beloved companion Bubba is strangled to death.
- After a brave fight, of fire, swords, and splintering blows, the tree is defeated.
- They inspect it and find treasure from past adventurers inside it!
- The pool rids them of the cursed plague.
- Narrier “cutpurse” arrives with two fellow bandits. They’re looking to drink from the pool as well.
- He is talked down from monetizing the spring, but it is clear that it is only a temporary agreement, one that will change as soon as they turn their backs on him.
- During the conversation, Davien sneaks up on Narrier and attacks!
- Narrier retreats like a coward, drinking a potion of Expeditious Retreat.
- The other two guards, both human, are defeated.
- One is interrogated. He was working for Narrier entirely out of profit: a promised 1% of all the proceeds from monetizing the spring.
- Bubba the bear is skinned and eaten, for noble reasons of re-integrating his essence into the world.

Return to Sanctuary / Rumor of the Gallows Wood Spring / A Visit to Cliff-Side / Entering the Gallows Wood

Session Events:
- The adventurers returned to Sanctuary with Lord Alain Tyl, the kobold witch Idruma, and the goblin Duzin.
- Witch Sty mentioned that before Lord Alain disappeared, he had mentioned the spring near Cliffside where he had been cured.
- She realized she should have kept the spring a secret, as Narrier “cutpurse” heard of it, and is planning on staking claim to it and turning a profit.
- The heroes threaten Narrier “cutpurse” not to leave or he will be killed.
- They told the guardian Oren the Ox to watch Narrier, and keep him from escaping.
- Galan “half-hand” revealed that he knows the smith who created Samara’s dragonbone daggers: the legendary elvish smith of Cathaern named Stal-Right.
- The heroes set off to Cliff-Side.
- They meet the travelling merchant / tinkerer Vafri, and guide him on his way.
- The heroes reach Cliff-Side.
- They enter the Gallows Wood in search of Bavmorda and the spring.
- They are quickly attacked(!) by evil demonic wolves, who demand that they leave.

- An altar to the drow goddess Lolth was discovered.
- Hundreds of half-elves, elves, and humans were chained before the altar, channeling their energy to some vile purpose.
- Lord Alain Tyl was found, with his sword-arm severed.
- Idruma and Duzin join the band in leaving the kobold lair, with Lord Alain in arm, heading toward Sanctuary
- A thick layer of tiny lizards has covered the land during the storm.
- They appear to be underwater cave-dwelling lizards.
- When Radurak Bloodmoon speaks to them, they say only “We’re free!”

Session III
The Surface of the Kobold Nest / Dire Weasels! / "They Are Listening!"

Session Events:
- The Adventurers reached the entrance to the kobold nest, where Davian solved the ancient puzzle of the stone gate.
- Davian sneaks into the tunnel, hears four guards playing dice in the first room.
- An ambush is staged. The four kobold guards are massacred, though the commander puts up a heroic fight.
- Those of the guards who were not killed in the initial ambush surrender.
- Treasure of a potion and a small amount of gold is found.
- A large brass gong sits against the wall, above which is an arcane mark of a wizard.
- Further exploration is made, discovering a trap of collapsible stairs, a statue of a skeleton warrior similar to the sculpture outside.
- The Adventurers press forward to a huge room with a dim green glow at its back. A barricade of garbage has been constructed there, with 6 kobolds standing with readied crossbows.
- Elwe tries in vain to convince them to speak with the prisoners. To which the speaking kobold tosses a string of ears forward and says “Speak! They are listening.”
- Poros threatens as well, though this kobold lead is steadfast. Large, scurrying weasels are at his feet.
- The battle breaks out!
- Bubba scales the wall and Samara leaps atop it, the two dual off with the six fire-breathing kobolds.
- With a magic slight, Elwe sends the kobold lead tumbling off the barricade to break his leg.
- His dire weasels charges forward, seeking vengeance for their fallen master!
- One latches onto Poros and drains blood from his neck.
- Much spine crunching, throat tearing, and weasel smashing commences.

- The Adventurers introduce one another, and find a common tie: Lord Alain Tyl
- Corpses of the slain plagued disposed of by Poros. Narrier “cutpurse” complains of the cruel disposal of his cousin’s corpse.
- The Adventurers continue toward Sanctuary.
- In the settlement’s outskirts, they meet Oren the Ox.
- The Adventurers set out for Maysen. Narrier “cutpurse” wishes to go with, but they refuse him. Oren takes the wagon back to Sanctuary.
- Along the way, they cleverly avoid an encounter with an ankheg.
- They happen upon a small scouting party of kobolds, who are squinting miserably into the sun.
- They manage to defeat the kobolds (who were in control of a vicious monitor lizard).
- Kobold eggs are stomped upon by Davien, then licked off his boots by Bubba the bear.
- One kobold is captured, and information is gathered from him. According to him:
- The kobolds raided Maysen for prisoners.
- They were lead by a devil-warrior Kalashesh.
- Plik-Plik was not involved, though the kobold did know him.
- A nasty wind storm strikes. At the heart of it, in the far distance, a massive creature roars.
