La Casa Tranquila
La Casa Tranquila was a project started towards the beginning of the economic depression. The hotel was built in a Spanish mission style design, and was to be an attempt at offering a high class stay in Vegas, without the clamor of the city. Translated to, The Peaceful House, Tranquila was a hotel and day spa with a small casino floor.
When the economy went in the toilet, Tranquila lost funding near it’s completion, and has remained in a half finished state for years. Over time, it has been vandalized by kids, and stripped of copper, but it still makes an impressive sight in the barren desert.
