Spell Pricing
A balance had to be struck between making magic expensive enough not be commonplace and keeping mages on the level of other well-off merchants. No pricing system will be set in stone. I reserve the right to make a spell less available but it would be tremendously helpful to have a base that we can operate off of 95% of the time.
(magic points to cast + number of prerequisites) x $5 x (Magery level required, minimum 1) = price in $
The casting must be limited to a maximum of 60 magic points and this doesn’t gaurantee you’ll find a caster but it is likely. Spells beyond that are possible but will require a great deal of work to coordinate skilled spellcasters to circle cast.
Here are some examples of spells that may be desired in no particular order. I did not calculate spells that would target an unwilling individual as most merchant mages would be highly resistant to selling that service without some kind of gaurantee of safety.

- Test Food for 1 meal or bottle of wine = $5
- Test Food for everything in a 1 yard radius = $15
- Detect Poison within 1 yard = $15
- Magelock door for 6 hours = $15
- Predict Weather x15 days = $170
- Predict Weather x2 days = $40
- Minor Healing of 3 HP = $30
- Cure Disease = $50
- Neutralize Poison = $45
- Suspended Animation = $65
- Instant Neutralize Poison = $130
- Restoration = $100
- Instant Restoration = $550
- Regeneration = $270
- Remove Curse = $340
- Dye a small piece of clothing for 2d days = $40
- Repair a broken 5lb object = $130
- Copy a 100 page book onto a blank 100 page book = $125
- Scryguard for 10 hours protection = $15
- Conceal Magic max strength for 10 hours = $35
- Analyze Magic = $55
- Seeker = $100 (price is doubled due to requiring IQ 12)
- Echoes of the Past to hear what happened in an area for a specific 5 minutes 10 days ago = $480
- Teleport Other someone and their equipment up to 200lbs to a place familiar to the caster less than 100 miles away = $525 (danger of missed location is unavoidable and significant)
