Rethos

RethosRethos are a reptilian race that resemble scaly humans with claws, long snouted faces, and thick tails. Most prefer hot places (on average, they’re comfortable between 47° and 135°), though a few herty ones live in climates that get colder than this and survive just fine since they are actually warm blooded. Most however live in swamps, tropical forests, and deserts.

Culture

Rethos are naturally militant hunters. They are socially organized to gain an advantage in hunting. However when they developed ‘civilization’ they found other outlets for their hunting instincts like collecting wealth rather then animal hides. Even settled Rethos have certain jobs they just don’t want any part of, including dealing with plants. They are naturally carnivorous and literally cannot eat most plants.

  • Features: Born Biter. Cannot learn non-reptilian languages above Accented level. Armor isn’t interchangeable with human armor. Ruby, blue, brown, emerald, gray, or green scales.

Becoming the Dragon

Rethos can become stronger, tougher, more brutal in ability. It is termed ‘Becoming the Dragon’ or Om die draak in lizard speak. They have three ranks of development, each rank building on the one before, and peaking out at third rank.

  • Secondary Characteristic Modifiers: HP+2 [4]
  • Advantages: Teeth (Fangs) [2] replace Teeth (Sharp) [1], for 1 point.

Rank 2

  • Attribute Modifiers: ST+1 [10]
  • Secondary Characteristic Modifiers: HP+2 [4]
  • Advantages: Becoming the Dragon 1 [15]; Claws (Talons) [8] replaces Claws (Sharp) [5], for 3 points.

Rank 3
