Stromdorf is a small market town in the southern part of the Reikland, about one hundred and fifty miles from Altdorf as the raven flies. It is located near the confluence of three rivers, the Ober, Tranig, and Teufel. The Grey Mountains are to the south and the Reikwald Forest lies to the north. The immediate area consists of marshy lowlands and stony hills.

The climate is wet and stormy. The area is generally avoided as the stormiest place in the Reikland.

There are about seven hundred citizens. They are proud of their town and the tenacity they must have to endure in such an intemperate climate. Other Reiklanders tend to mock Stromdorers as being backward.

Most folk are farmers or work in the local tannery. There are many taverns in Stromdorf and the city has a high birth rate.

Stromdorf is the home of the Thunderwater Inn, home of the Empire wide famous Thunderwater Ale.
