Divine Magic of Athas
Divine magics have always played a major part in the Dark Sun campaign setting. For Chaos Out of Order expect to encounter psionics most commonly, divine magic less commonly, and arcane magic least commonly.
Divine magic comes throught conduits to the elemental planes. As Classes of Athas demonstrates, different classes gain access to a conduit differently. Elemental clerics gain their spells through a pact made with an elemental power from the planes. Druids and rangers gain their spells through a pact made with a Spirit of the Land. Paladins gain their powers through a pact made with an avangion. Templar clerics gain their spells through a pact made with a dragon king.
For Chaos Out of Order the “Magic and Psionics are Mostly Different” rules on page 44 of Dragon Magazine #319, May 2004, will be used.
