Bostich - Entry 12 - Ashen Tide
What manner of fate is this?
The coastal town of Oceana has been ravaged by the wrath of sea. I can only assume that Ihteha played her fair share of her role here, or lack of duty to prevention.
The town worshipped her, a shrine made in her… “honor”. While it was true that the town had been held by Oldden, it was not outside of our capacity to free it. If Ihteha wished to wipe out the town due to Oldden’s presence, she would have done it well before we arrived. Instead, we had barely set foot in the town before it was threatened. It then becomes obvious that Ihteha had waited for our arrival specifically.
Additionally, the wave was not strategically executed to our means in the slightest. If she had wanted us to save more of its citizens, she would have waited for us to make our move. Instead we nearly had no warning, same as the townspeople. If none of us had noticed the tides, then…
No, there are only two possibilities that make any sense.
They either seek to destroy us, or, if what Tarkin said is correct, that Aekyba asked us to do this to aid all of the gods… then it means they seek to force us forward, against our limited amount of time. And they will sacrifice humans readily in order to accomplish it, burying them among their selfish power.
The gods seem set to prove themselves just as destructive as Oldden’s rampage. Perhaps they, too, have chosen to declare war upon this world.
