The Kingdom of Paladia
Ruled by King Goodwin von Lambert
Capital: Barrelmoor
Colors: Black and Gold
Symbol: Gauntlet and Sword

A vast expanse of rolling hills and moors, dry hot winds constantly blowing, the Paladian Heights is home to the kingdom of Paladia and the former northern territory of Halchea. In the southern reaches of the Heights stands the great city of Northkeep. While technically within the borders of Paladia, King Goodwin does not lay claim to it as his own, as it was the capital city of his father, King Cyrric Von Lambert, before the old kingdom of Halchea was divided between the three heirs. Before the death of King Wilhelm, Northkeep served as the neutral meeting ground for the three monarchs; but since his death the remaining Von Lambert’s have not visited and Lord Baxter has been barred entry.
There are many noble families of Paladia, and most have their own armies, and while Goodwin is King and rules the lands, Dukes from the noble families tend to rule individual cities within Paladia, and the five powerful Archdukes rule the five provinces. The Kingdom of Paladia is a knight-focused culture. There are many knights and squires, and it is something to be aspired to. The Kingdom boasts heavily about both its elite cavalry units, and highly trained infantry. It is very self-sufficient, but has never been hesitant to take what it needs or wants from others.
Socially, Military prowess is far more impressive and status-granting than blood or birth. With enough skill with a blade, one could be seen as a superior to one born to a title of dukedom.
Before Halchea took this area of land, Paladia was still a system of Dukes, but no kings. They were instead ruled by a Council of five Archdukes who controlled the weaker Dukes within their lands. These Dukedoms were constantly fighting for resources and power, frequently raiding outlying regions, until Halchos von Garren I came in both militarily and politically, uniting the factions of Paladia and the Council of Five into a strong ally that provided their armies in his conquest. The Council of Five still exists, previously as the provincial rulers of Paladia and now as advisers to King Goodwin.
King Goodwin married Arendira von Egon when he came of age many years ago. Their son, Prince Casimir, is heir to the throne.
