You are heroes. The more heroic you play, the more heroic the game is. Offer quarter. Let the henchmen live. Return the sword you recently disarmed. It may not be the ‘smartest’ thing to do, but you’ll find the play more enjoyable. Enjoy witty repartee, and compliment your enemy (or insult them). Be willing to concede a fight and surrender if you are overpowered or intimidated. Retreat from overwhelming odds when appropriate. The villains will tend to be heroic as well, such as spell out their evil plans before ordering the henchmen to kill you. Being heroic and daring adds to the flavor and style of the campaign, and will increase the frequency of Hero Token awards, as well as role-playing experience awards and other benefits.
