Our universe, our history—21st Century USA
The predominant civilizations were the Egyptians, the Romans, the British Empire, and the USA. RTL is not a particularly useful timeline for gaming, though it does have one important purpose, which is as a starting point. One easy way to introduce players to the world of Crosstime is to start off with characters from our universe – players playing themselves, or other people from 21st century Western civilization, as a way to introduce the concepts of the campaign to the players and characters simultaneously. All other timelines and space-times will be dated both through the Revisionist/OTL Absolute Time reckoning and as in reference to the Common Era calendar from RTL, though that will have little to no meaning within the campaign world.
