One of the Brooklyn neighborhoods developed in the twenties, East Flatbush flourished as a residential neighborhood for working-class and middle-class families. Single-family homes and double-family homes dominate the streets of this community. At the beginning of the twenties, the area was mainly mostly stretches of undeveloped land.
