Dark Skies

The Burning Robes maintain a presence in almost all city-states and many points in between. They conduct themselves like an order of monks and answer to a mysterious but charming Brother Sun. Unlike other slavers they do not take their slaves by force, but the victims of their trade surrender themselves to The Burning Robes. They can be seen moving among the refuse of society in communities or in remote places. Their pilgrimages of slaves being marched to the markets by a small handful of monks are the subject of much talk. But the enemies of Robes tend to die under mysterious circumstances.

It is known to the Keepers of Lir, the remaining members of The New Dawn and Veiled Alliance, and perhaps a few others, that the Burning Robe gained part or all of their persuasive powers from the Demon of The Bell who dwelt on the Isle of Song. Those that became his followers and heard the demon’s song are able to impart a glimpse of Lir as it existed before the war with Ro-Rex.

When the Demon of the Bell was defeated by the Keepers many of the Burning Robes turned away from their old life and began aiding the Veiled Alliance and Followers of the Gourd. The Isle of Song became a way point for escaped slaves for a short period of time.
