Twin Worlds Cosmology
The cosmology of the Twin Worlds is a dynamic dance of three heavenly bodies. The two Twin Worlds, Dimitrius and Escadia, orbit each other. Like a bola traveling through space, they spin opposite each other around a central axis . They share one moon, Lorinar; which orbits between the two planets in an elongated figure-8. Lorinar takes 28 days to complete one orbit around Dimitrius or Escadia and return to a perfectly alligned point between the two worlds, and then it takes another 28 days for it to complete it’s orbit around the other world.
While Lorinar is in alignment between Escadia and Dimitrius, an important event occurs. On each world, there are 8 points where a massive portal appears. These portals appear as great disks of blue-white energy standing on their end. They are usually half-buried in the ground, so the widest point of the disk is at surface level. When someone steps through one portal, they emerge soon after at a corresponding portal on the other world. Collectively, these gates are known as the Wayfare Gates. These gates are only active every 28 days for 12 hours, while Lorinar is aligned between the Twin Worlds.
