Blackwash

  • Population: 127,000
    • 84% human
    • 6% troll-blooded
    • 4% halfling
    • 3% gnome
    • 3% other
  • Literacy: 72%
  • Geography: the city of Blackwash is spread across roughly a half-dozen islands in the Black River delta. It gets its name from the annual silt flooding that turns the waters of the river black and built up the islands that make up the city. Most of the islands are linked by bridges, though some on the outskirts are only accessible by ferry. The city is built almost entirely of wood from the Troll Woods to the south and stone hauled down the Black River from the Troll Mounts. The largest exception is the ironically-named white marble Black Palace.

Deepwell

  • Population: 22,000
    • 92% human
    • 4% dwarf
    • 2% gnome
    • 2% other
  • Literacy: 60%
  • Geography: Deepwell is built on a tiny stretch of land at the tip of a peninsula guarding the Bay of Storms. With very little cropland, most of the city’s food supply must be brought in by ship across the bay or across the Near Sea (though hardier supplies are caravaned the long way around the bay). The city depends almost entirely on foreign commerce, so when the winter storms sweep down out of the North and sea travel becomes dangerous, much of the city shuts down. The Sea Keep guards the primary entrance to the bay and serves as the seat of House Deepwell.

  • Geography: This sprawling city near the center of Archos serves as the seat of the monarchy. Located at the confluence of two rivers, the city is dominated by the large hill topped by the Fifth Keep – so named because it is the fifth keep built on that very spot. Pact is named for the agreement made there that united the nations of Arkuz with the fragments of Leistos, creating the new Kingdom of Archos.

    • 84% elf
    • 9% half-elf
    • 6% human (mostly Wildling tribes)
    • 1% other

  • Geography: Built as most elven cities are – by bending nature to their will, Brightstar is a treetop city supported mostly by five immense trees, whose arrangement and golden leaves lend the city its name. As in the other elven tree cities, most of the trading is done on the forest floor, and that is where most travelers (especially non-elves) stay when visiting the city.

New Rellien (Capital)

  • Population: 91,000
    • 86% elf
    • 7% half-elf
    • 6% Human (mostly Wildling tribes)
    • 1% other
  • Literacy: 87%
  • Geography: Built around the Palace of the Three Houses, this city is the seat of New Andar’s monarchy and the first elven city established in this world. Named for the capital of old Andar, it uses a combination of living trees and shaped stonework peculiar to elves. The tree city of New Rellien makes up a smaller portion than in other elven cities, so dwellings and businesses there are considered the most prestigious and exclusive.
