The heroes find themselves at a Motorcycle Expo and are just getting ready to leave when they see a pair of bikers carrying a clearly intoxicated girl to the back of a van!
Earlier in the day (previous session) they had witnessed a biker dropping a rufie into a girl’s beer. Witnessing this, Elena “sics” Conor on them which he does. Two punches, two thugs dropped, and things get interesting from there.
Elena moves to deal with the biker goons in the front of the van via the judicious use of pepper-spray. That doesn’t go entirely to plan as one of them moves with suprising speed to avoid. He steps out with a tire iron and she brings them back around to Conor.
Meanwhile Matthew is just wandering by (he tends to do that) and witnesses the brawl going down. Not really sure of what’s going on, but seeing the unconcious girl he moves to pull her out of the area and into the path of some approaching police officers.
Jaime sees some police officers coming up and tries to slow them down; he’s “assisted” by an unseen additional invididual – Ren (The two of them have… history). Jaime’s a bit more effective with his assist than Ren… who manages to effectively wreck the park’s sprinkler systems but not much else.
The goons from the Van come back around to deal with Conor two-on-one. For some strange reason, the tire iron fellow gets all of Conor’s attention (landing a pretty good hit that draws blood… Cold Iron tends to do that after all). Elena opens the door to the van, showing another girl in the back (also unconscious from the rufies).
At this point the police draw guns and break up the fight. Statements, pleas, cries, and all sorts of emotion spills out trying to convince the police officers that though this was a brawl… it was actually defense of others. The girls are taken to a hospital. Conor and the goons from the van go downtown (and the van is impounded as evidence). Conor was none too pleased with the steel handcuffs but… after a bit of charming persuasion… convinces the officer escorting him to the squad car to take them off.
While “downtown” one mysterious Mr. Sean Kelly (who doesn’t look much like Conor actually… amazing) is processed by the city and tossed in the lockup. He’s released within a few hours though.
Afterwards… the group head’s down to get some lunch at a local IHOP. Conor throws up a veil so they can have some privacy. It turns out that Ren has some information of use… somebody is plotting devilry with a Shadesphere, a complex magical device… more of a puzzle really… which requires the sacrifice of multiple human beings to power it. It’s also discovered that the wife of the president of the biker gang that was kidnapping those rufied girls is involved somehow. Bad news. Very bad news.
Jaime, Conor, and Ren head to Jaime’s house to see about getting more information via magical means. Matthew and Elena head to visit Miranda and see if her library has anything useful.
Jaime summons Chaunzaggoroth and gets the information he needs for the low, low price of a piece of his ex-Wife’s hair. How bad could that be?
What happens next? Tune in next time.
