History

Following the wizard war and the creation of the Kingdom of Nerud, Darrowshire served as the capital city of Fief Cormryn.  Situated at the back of Tal Mithan Bay, and along the delta of the Dunmore River, Darrowshire's chief economy revolved around fishing.  The small city had a large fisherman's guild and port authority.  Despite being a port city, Darrowshire was in the unusual position of not being able to manage her own large-scale sea trade, however, due to the monopoly on sea trade by the Mariners Guild of Nos Calan.  Still, Darrowshire managed to do quite well.  Fief Cormryn was more self-sufficient than most, and was able to devote areas to both food and energy production.

Since its inception in the year 938 TA, Darrowshire was presided over by Duke Uther Cormryn and his wife, the Dutchess Anastasia. During this time, until 979 TA, Darrowshire experienced peace and modest growth.  The citizenry was content, the Duke and Dutchess well-liked, and the roads safe.

Current Events

One year ago, in 981 TA, Darrowshire as it was known fell into darkness. Duke Cormryn was corrupted by the enclave of wizards calling themselves the Black Veil, and subsequently launched a campaign across the kingdom, eventually slaying King Nerud and claiming the kingdom for himself.  Darrowshire itself still stands, and is still home to the fallen Duke.
