Glaurung

Ancient Wyrm of the Black Dragonflight, Lieutenant of Morwen, Scourge of Tog Morath 

Glaurung is an ancient black dragon of terrible cruelty and power.  At the close of the first age, a younger Glaurung was a lesser lieutenant of the first dark lord, Morwen.  Frequently appearing in the guise of a young, raven-haired woman, Glaurung's command at the time was the coersive extraction of information from Morwen's captured foes, deep in the dungeons of the fortress of Tog Morath.  This was a duty that Glaurung relished, and she was known for her prediliction towards unusual and byzantine methods of torture.

During this time, Glauring was fond of crafting various items and instruments to assist her in her inquisitions. Most records of these devices have been lost to the ages, though it is reported that one such item was recently recovered from an island in the Selune Sea and brought to the Istari Arcanum in Nos Calan for safekeeping.  This intelligent and evil rapier, known as Melanchine (continued)
