The Empire is the largest and most powerful nation in the Old World. It consists of ten Grand Provinces, each ruled by an Elector-Count. The Counts elect one of their own to be the new Emperor when the previous one dies. The Emperor’s heir is usually elected unless said Emperor was a horrible ruler. If the throne changes to a new family, usually the capital is moved to the primary city of the new Emperor’s province.

The current Emperor is Karl Franz I, the Elector-Count of Reikland. His family has held the throne for about a hundred years.

The Imperial Capital is the city of Altdorf, which is also the capital of Reikland.
