Set against the backdrop of the city of Dunwall and the rat plague, Oathbound follows the story of the Lieutenants, the left hand to the Imperial Family and Council. The Lieutenants are falsely implicated in the deaths of the Emperor, Empress, and Heir death and are ultimately imprisoned. Driven by revenge, they escape from their confinement six months later, and becomes a infamous assassins as they strives to avenge their, and the Lords’, fate.

The players will be assuming the role of Lieutenants to the Council during and after the murder of the Imperial Family. The basic story is one of revenge against the people who betrayed them. Players will be expected to contribute heavily, detailing their Council members along with the locations those antagonists would frequent. NPC and City Creation will be an on-going process left heavily in the player’s hands during the course of the game.

The goal is to allow every player a series of spotlight moments while they lead the charge against the specific Council member that betrayed them. While all players will be able to contribute ideas the final call will be in the hands of the lead player and game master.

Oathbound uses the Sword Noir rule system by Swords Edge Publishing. The base plot and loose setting is based off the video game Dishonored.
