Goddamn Rats
Ugh. I feel like shit.
So, apparently, some dipshit summoner releasing a horde of imps on this village wasn’t enough. Oh no. There was also, evidently, a dragon egg that hatched at an inopportune time. Presumably that’s what burned it to the ground. I expect the summoner was trying to capture the egg and/or baby dragon. With any luck, said dragon ate said summoner and we won’t have to worry about at least one of them.
I also think my dear friend Allon was here. At some point after the fire, sadly, but other than that, I’m not sure in what capacity. Either he was investigating or he was after something. Not particularly happy about either, really, though if I can figure out what he was doing here, then maybe I can turn this to my advantage.
One thing I’m sure of. Whatever he was there for, he didn’t get what he wanted, or he’d have been rubbing it in my face by now.
I really feel awful. Of all the things that could have been in that burned out wreck of a town, the infectious rats couldn’t wait even one more day.
And they didn’t even have the decency to pop out of the pile of corpses and attempt to chew Ceor’s face off instead of coming from behind and latching onto my leg.
