History

The United Earth Conglomerate represents the evolutionary step in the United Nations after the North American Revolution.

The Conglomerate Today

The Conglomerate is represented by every Earthborn Nation, and a number of Sol based colonies and Independents. Membership to the Conglomerate is tightly controlled, the costs are exorbitant, and outlier colonies are generally forbidden membership. Outlier colonies may petition grievances to the Conglomerate, but unless the action has direct influence on Earth itself, it is unusual for anything to be dealt with in a timely manner.

The Conglomerate is militaristic in it’s forced 1 year of military service from all member nations. It operates probably the largest galactic fleet in the ’Way, although it rarely leaves the Sol System, and even then, probably only ever for Gateway. The fleet has taken substantial damage over the course of the Raven War and the AI Wars.

The Conglomerate is mired in bureaucracy, and rarely makes a decision worth noting. It is large, ineffectual and very corrupt. Unofficially, the motto of the Conglomerate is to “Protect Earth First, and Screw the rest of the galaxy.”
