Elemental Isle Nihl

Iron Heroes

Pantheon

March 30, 2008 18:20

Here’s a few God’s that I find interesting and makeup the current pantheon. Feel free to add some suggestions.

Cyric, he’s just the awesomest evil god.

Mask – a pretty cool dude. God of shadows and thieves.

Kesson Rel – Formerly a chosen of Mask until the day Kesson Rel stole the sun. Eviler god of shadows. Patron of Shadovar as well.

Bahamut – The platinum dragon the big kahuna himself. Worshiped by Good dragons and good hearted humans alike. He’s predominantly worshiped in Wyndia. This is probably due to the legend that speaks of the day a flight of dragons saved a group of mortals in the plains being harrowed by giants. The humans formed a pact with the dragons and their God which granted them wings. Generally anyone with Celestial bloodlines has originated from Wyndia.

Tyr’s – God of justice. His holy symbol is a set of scales. He is the most worshiped god in city states (Free port and Free haven).

Thor – The god of Thunder himself. Out of all the God’s Thor has spent the most time in the mortal word (dubbed Midgard by him). This is mostly due to the fact of Thor being forced to walk the Earth as a man to better understand his worshipper. Be careful who you mess with, you never know when you might make a vengeful thunder god your enemy.

Tyche – She is the goddess of luck and fortune. However, that is not exclusively good luck. Nevertheless she is still worshiped everywhere for anyone hoping for a bit of good luck (or hoping that someone else will catch some bad luck)

Ladon – Patron God of travelers, you can find many statues of a Ladon the Dragon God decorating the landscape. What few know is that Ladon used to be the predominant Draconic deity, however a falling out happened eons ago, when Bahamut and Tiamat were born. The dragons alligned themselves with those two, while the only ones still faithful to Ladon were the Dragon clan. However, the homeland of the Dragon clan was destroyed during a civil war, wiping out the majority of them. Since they have become nomads.

Yondalla – Goddess of the harvest. She is also known as the righteous defender, to take up arms against those who wish to harm your homeland. Mainly worshiped by farmers and halfings.

Erde – God of war and also god of Giants. Erde’s dogma involves constant war, deeming that war is a necessity of life. Also that the strongest are meant to not only survive, but to rule. Primarily worshiped in the hobgoblin nation, and of course the multitude of giant tribes.

Vesper – Goddess of Nature and Magic

Dwarves – don’t believe in fate, rather choices and consequences. As such there are quite a few atheist dwarves.

Elves – There’s an old saying the elves have. Part well regret nothing. The elves revere Corellon Larethian, however, their deities presence has not been felt in the world for a long time. The elves who escape to the south still worship Corellon but their faith is fading. Those in the Northlands who tolerate and sometimes enjoy the rule of dragons have begun to worship the deity of their draconic rulers.
