The Empress’ Guard is an all-female quasi-religious order dedicated to the protection of the Empress and her palace. Having taken over the role of the Praetorian Guard, the Empress’ Guard is fervently dedicated to their task, and although rarely seen outside the Palace, they are well-known for their strict, zealous demeanour.

Acting much like a sort of knightly order, the Empress’ Guard has particular requirements for induction into the order. Notably, each applicant must have the divine spark – the ability to tap into divine magicks. Unlike the Praetorian Guard, the Empress’ Guard swears off political aspirations and most aspects of normal life. Members of the order are cloistered within the Palace, where they live and serve for most of their lives.
