Session 10

The group enters the living quarters of the Monastery Dwarfs. In the middle of the room is a giant statue and all throughout the room the group sees dwarf bodies littering the floor. Blood is running on the floor and is on the large statue. Along both walls are stairs that lead up to the rooms that the dwarfs live in. Throughout the room the group sees Orc warriors. Not being stealthy the Orcs are alerted to the groups presence and attacks. As the group is dispatching the orcs Ian runs up the nearest stairs to the right where he is confronted by an orc at the landing. He takes out that orc and is then attacked by an Orc from the landing just a little bit further down the hall. Ian being brave jumps the 6ft gap and kills the Orc. Once the party kills all of the orcs they inspect the statue and find that it is a Dwarf hero, this specific dwarf took down a Hydra all by himself once it had destroyed the 300 dwarfs he was leading. The group seems to find this funny and proceed.
They come to a staircase leading down, every about 60-70 feet is a 18×18 landing, this is an open staircase so it is very difficult for the group to walk down. They do not want to fall off the edge as it is a long drop. Upon getting to the first landing they are attacked by Orc Archers while walking down the stairs they are also attacked by a Drake. They dispose of both the archers and drake and start their way down to the 2nd landing. Upon Than reaching the 2nd landing the group realizes there are more orcs coming up the stairs. The group eliminates all of the orcs but the boss. The orc champion attacks Than with his spear, this attack does minimal damage to Than, but in the process it also pushes him one square off the edge of the landing where he smashes to the ground 40 feet below. This fall knocks Than unconscious. The rest of the group takes out the Orc champion and then Ian uses a rope to go down to retrieve Than. He heals him and they both go back up to the landing. Once they are up, the group continues down the stairs where they do not encounter anymore orcs.
