To Waterdeep!

Travel to meet Eligos and the Crooked House

As requested by Allustan the group travels to the famed city of Waterdeep. The jouney to the city of splendors is uneventful untill the group reaches the gates of Waterdeep. Sorin and Gibbs attempt to disguise themselves as lowly peasants and only Sorin is able to pull off the facade. Rhisteel Mel’Braegan and Fezzig are able to enter the city, and with a little bit of bribery they are able to keep their weapons as well.

As the group makes their way through the crowded streets they happen to see a menagerie of street performers and exotic animals. as the people push towards the caravan to get a peek at a chimera, it’s cage explodes and it is released in the crowd of bystanders. Not wanting to break their disguises Sorin and Gibbs disapear into the alarmed mob and vanish. While Fezzig and Rhisteel try to help until the Grey Hands of Waterdeep arrive. Fezzig, Rhisteel, Sorin, and Gibbs all make it to Allustan’s friend Eligos’s house. His manservant Pollard answers the door and tells the group that they will be seen in a few moments. Then leads them to a parlor to wait for the master of the house.

After waiting a few minutes Eligos makes his way into the parlor and alows the party to introduce themselves. After that he plainly asks their business at his home. Thee group presents Allustan’s notes to Eligos and asks his assistance in finding out the source of the green wooms that have been plaguing the area around Diamond Lake. Eligos raises an eyebrow at the mention of Allustan and accepts the task. “Allthough not my area of expertise, I do know a bit of what you speak and am greatly disturbed. I will look into the matter, but it will take some time. There are a great many books to consult. And most are kept in the great library. I should be able to gather the information you seek in a week. While you wait I suggest you stay at the Crooked house.”

Blackwall Keep and the Mistmarsh

  • The group did follow Allustan back to Diamond Lake. Allustan then provided the group with all of his and Marzena’s notes on the events that were unfolding in the area’s surrounding Waterdeep. He asked that they take them with haste to a man called
  • Allustan and Marzena talked for quite a while and allthough Allustan learned nothing new about what the worms were. He did decide that the problem was too big for he himself to tackle. He asked the adventurer’s to acompany him back to Diamond Lake.
  • After clearing out the Mistmars and quelling the undead in Blackwall Keep the group rested finally. And shortly afterward Allustan came with reinforcements for the keep.
  • When the group returns to Blackwall Keep they find a nasty suprise awaits them. A Green worm had found it’s way into a unlucky solder and turned him into a gastly undead abomanation. His body writhed with the green worms and as he battled he would it seem almost try to throw the worms onto the warriors in the party.
  • The group Finds Marzena and the guards and all make haste back to the saftey of Blackwall Keep.

  • Some quick thinking and a bit of paniced scraping from gibbs and all the worms are destroyed.
  • The egg bursts open where Gibbs had kicked it. Catching Gibbs and Sorin off guard. Out pour hundreds of tiny segmented green worms like the ones all the members of the group have encountered.
  • Gibbs and Sorin head to the egg to examine it. and Gibbs, thinking he will destroy the egg gives it a swift boot!
  • The group enters the egg chamber. And among the many Lizardfolk eggs lie’s a large egg. Gibbs recognizes it as a dragons egg from his many years at sea hearing tales of such things.
  • The party kills the Lizard King and sudues the clans shaman. The Shaman tells of a foul pact with a black dragon and that he fears that the clans eggs, the future of the clan are in danger.
  • The Lizard King has been augmented by a black dragon and has a lust for violence.
  • The group fights thier way through the lair to find the Hall of the Lizard King.
  • Gibbs, Sorin, Fezzig and thier new ally Rhisteel Mel’Braegan head into the Mistmarsh to find the captured soldiers and Marzena. The trail is easy to follow through the marsh and leads the group to the enterance of the lair of the Twisted branch clan of Lizardfolk.
  • Marzena, Allustan’s Friend has been captured by the lizardmen as well as several soldiers, and the group need to go and save them.
  • Through a long hard-fought battle the group breaks the siege and enters blackwall keep.
  • Blackwall Keep is being besieged by lizardfolk. Allustan instructs the group to break the siege while he returns to Diamond Lake for help. He then uses a scroll and vanishes.
  • When the group nears Blackwall Keep the sounds of battle can be heard.
  • One night on the road Allustan challenges the group to a few games and riddles.
  • Along the way The group learns that Rhisteel Mel’Braegan has encountered green segmented worms in the corpse of an elf he was suposed to escout back to Evermeet.
  • After introductions are through the group headed out to Blackwall Keep.
  • Gibbs, Sorin, and Fezzig head to Allustan’s Home to leave for Blackwall Keep.

The Temple of the Ebon Triad

  • Allustan the Sage of Diamond Lake. Who had met with the group a few times before came to the Group And Asked if they would accompany him to Blackwall Keep. He had a colege that he wanted to see because she may have information about all the trouble that has been going on. The Group agreed to meet him the next morning to head out.
  • Balabar Smenk is implicated in the plot to undermine the saftey of Diamond Lake. He is Imprisoned. He vows that he will return.
  • The group Burries Victor.

  • The group returns to Diamond Lake with thier fallen comrad Victor. The search for someone who may be able to bring him back. But they cannot. Each member mourns the loss of Victor. Gibbs Especially so, as he spends a whole night constructing a burial casket for is friend.
  • On thier way out the victors again see the pool. But now it is almost boiling. The destruction of the three evil cults has awakened something sinister in it’s dark waters. As the group begins to leave a creature bursts forth. A bizare amalgamation of the three dieties it embodies. it is a ten-foot tall, powerfuly built monster with six arms. Bent on the destruction of the group. In a long battle that claims the life of Victor the group kills the creature.
  • After Defeating the Wings Dedicated to Bane and Bhaal, the group traversed throught a Maze and into an ancient chamer home of the Faceless one. In a hard fought battle they defeated the Faceless one and Stopped the plans of what they now knew as the Ebon Triad.
  • In the Temple the group Battles though three wings. Each Wing dedicated to a different Diety Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul. In doing so they find numerous crates with the seal of the crooked merchant Balabar Smenk and see that he has been in league with the practioners.
  • Investigating the temple enterance the group finds a large placid pool filled with a black viscus fluid
  • Though Subtefuge They gain Access to the lower mines and find an enterance to a hidden temple
  • Victor, Sorin, Gibbs, and Fezzig are Hired to investigate the mine of one Ragnolin Dourstone by one Balabar Smenk he informs them that there are dark goings on in the mines.

The Resting place of Zhosial

Now that the door to the tomb of the wind duke Zhosial was open the group headed in to Plunder!!! But not yet inside were two guardians, Wind Warriors. in a battle that almost took the life of Scruffles the Riding dog of Fezzig the Halfling Ranger. The group assended a nifty airlift to the chamber with Zhosial’s sarcophogas in it. on the lid was a carving of Zhosial himself. The carving animated and said ” Speak My Name.” but the group did’nt know who this was . . . so they were stumped. allthough I’m not exactly sure I think this is were Allustan the Sage of Diamond lake comes in. he was able to find the name of the Ancient Wind Duke and open the sarcophogas to find two black horns with red tips and a metal box with odd glyphs and an adamantine loop inside. And thus ended the first installment of the Age of Worms.

A Small Detour

So, the group who had survived the trials of the Wispering carin only to come out with the remains of a boy. Traveled to the manorhouse to bury said reains. Only to find that the rest of the ghosts family had been dug up and carted off recently. Who would do such a thing? The group searched the manorhouse for clues and they found a bugbear! The animal had been previously injured and the group was able to handle the threat. after the fight they found a baby Bugbear and a severed arm with a distinctive tatoo on it. I belive Sorin and Gibbs were able to sell the Bugbear Baby for a nice profit and Victor and Fezzig found an albino half=orc with the same tatoo as the severed arm, but on his forehead. the group followed the group of thugs after dark. Found that they were gathering diggin gear and proceeded to subue them and lear of a Necromancer that had taken up residence in an old observitory long since abandoned. The group stormed the observitory No, wait . . . they Snuck into the observitory. took out a few skeletons and made thier way to the observitory floor. The Necromancer Filge was conduction experiments on a dead body laid out on a table and humming a horid tune. Pouncing into action the group almost got Filge by suprise. but on a command Filge had four zombies burst forth from four nasty tanks filled with rust colored water and attack! after deafeating Filge and pressing him about why he was in Diamond Lake and what he was doing. The now simpering Filge spilled his guts in an atempt to save his skin. He talked about a cult in the mines and was conduction experiments on strange green worms. After devulging his knowlege and betraying his comrads, Gibbs Slew him and the group burnned the observitor to the ground. But not before finding the Ghosts family and packing them up for burial. After laying the family to rest the ghost of the boy in the Wispering carin open the door of the true tomb that could only be opened from the other side and went home.

The Wispering Carin In brief

The Group of Adventurers were able to find the location of the Whispering Carin. When they entered they found an old soiled Bedroll and walls covered with carved grafiti. Exploring further the group came upon a tomb that had been looted. but through more examiation it seemed that there was moore to this tomb then meets the eye. all around the sarcophogas in seven small halls with lanterns at the end of all but two. The group then found the two secret pasages to the lower levels of the complex and through diligent searching found the two missing lanterns. with the lanters the Adventurers Gibbs, Victor, Fezzig and Sorin were able to activate the key to the true tomb.

Beyond a tricky trap that the group was able to bypass was the true tomb. But wait, another challenge. A narrow beam to another door. As the characters tried to traverse the beam large metal balls shot of of the wall and knocked them into a pit filled with . . . you guessed it metal balls. Not to mention a grick. well victor fell into the pit and the battle with the grick was feirce. finally one of the characters was able to make it over to the door but . . . Where’s the Handle??? A ghost made his presence known and offered to help the group if they would bury his body at his old house.

  • Gibbs, Victor, Fezzig, Sorin. You guys are welcome to weigh in on the events that happend! add some of what you remember and you charaters point of view!. also I would like to add that I am sorry not to be more detailed I will try to put more stuff into the later installments as I am trying to get caught up to where we are presently*
