Dwarves are naturally dense, compact creatures. They stand no taller than 4-1/2 feet, but they have the breadth and depth of creatures nearly twice their height. Their arms are long for their height, and their legs are shorter in proportion to humans. Both males and females are heavily muscled, with thick, well-rounded limbs and broad shoulders and hips.
Mountain Dwarves – the delvers of the dwarves – famous for their mining, smithing, stonework, and hardiness.
Hill Dwarves – the orphans of the dwarves – having long integrated with human culture – these dwarves are open and friendly by dwarf standards – as well as slightly taller than their kin.
Deep Dwarves – the Druegar, who delved deep into the Underdark and were enslaved for generations by the Illithid. They finally broke free with aid from the god Abbathor. They are more skilled in magic than their brethren and are near xenophobic in their treatment of all other beings, including the surface dwarves who they see as having abandoned them and their god.
