Fallcrest: Crucible of Adventure

While you were away:

Kinsington Winters is still in custody. Winters family has closed off their lands and refuse to acknowledge any envoys sent from Fallcrest. Countess Bella Winters has continued the supply of food stuffs and other trade & taxes to Fallcrest, but has pulled her family out of the town to their estates within Winterheim. The Kamroth’s are not allowed in the Winter’s County as well.

Aranda Markelhay has arrived in Fallcrest, causing much of a stir as she was escorted by her Fiancée Major Augustin Voisin, and his Regiment The 3rd Fusiliers. The two have taken up residence within Moonstone Keep. The regiment has been parted out to your various Baronies for boarding and some cross training / officer exchanges with the forces of Fallcrest.

Ongvas has taken Nimozaran’s position on the council and has already claimed the leadership role. Through various contacts and insider information, he has been able to increase Fallcrest’s revenue through suggestions from the council by 5% in the last month.

Various construction projects have been completed or are near completion, and communities have already established themselves around your various main holdings.

Sebala your wives have arrived and set up within the household, you have explained the situation to Kess, and being from a society that respects powerful male able to provide and care for his offspring she falls quickly into the family routine, though she holds onto taking care of the affairs of your Barony and Drakon Hold while you are gone. A rare set of old growth trees have been found your part of the Cloak Woods, a deep rich red and strong wood, comparable to iron in hardness but half the weight, it can be harvested, not easily, but it has open the doors of trade when its discovery became known.

Darosch, Emesha has made great progress in the recruitment of the faithful. Daily services have seen their attendance up as well as a growth in the number of military personnel attending the Godsday service each week. New laypersons are helping flesh out the staff and several of the faithful have asked for their children to be taken on as pupils in the church. Father Grundelmar has been helping out as well with weekly exchanges and joint sermons to the gathered faithful. High Priest Resalimae Starlight has recently joined in as well.

Barakas has seen a surge in his population around his tower, as peoples of a variety of races have answered a spreading call of tolerance and acceptance in his holdings. Tieflings, Goblins, Wererats, Hobgoblin, Orc, and a few War Trolls have thrown in their lot with Baron Barakas. Tullen has been busy spreading the word and organizing the various groups, he has shown a talent for keeping folks of the various races together and on task, and finding the best places to use the talents of those races.

Helja’s docks and tower are complete and are already seeing business and revenue, some new taxes and consolidation of the river tariffs and loading and off loading fees has seen a more streamlined and lucrative business for everyone. The Halfling Trading companies who were first at odds with the new docks are now in welcoming the consolidation of power. Sgt. Murgeddin has had Knight Justice helping with the figures and boat tracking, its been a painful process.

The squires are a cohesive unit, taking the past month for unit training as well as schooling. They recently investigated reports of freshly buried undead rising, and routed a newly arrived necromancer and slew him and his minions.

No one has seen Vito Kamroth in three weeks, Lady Kamroth says he has taken the opportunity to visit his fathers last resting place.

A school has been created in Honor of Nimozaran the Green and his service to Fallcrest.

Harvester 6th, Common Year 700

- Cloudforged comes to a landing near Drakonhold, after a fly over of Winterhaven. Group sets out for the keep and meet Sebala's family, the eggs are dropped off for safe keeping, and they make their way to Fallcrest.

- Immediatly move to gain audiance with the Duke, and are greeted, reports are given and updates of the going ons of Fallcrest are told. The Sages move to announce their findings and are asked by Baron Drakonhold to hold the annoucnements till he can also go over the data and bring new information he has found up north. A dinner is arranged for a more private meeting with just the Duke and Duchess. Group is introduced to Major Augustin Voisin by Édouard Castile whom express and interest in meeting the group with Princess Aranda Markelhay to discuss their adventures and exploits within Fallcrest.

- Discuss matters of state and recent occurencess in Fallcrest, as well as the location of the Cogs, the threat of more Tiamat worshipers in the Frostfell to the North and the Winters family.

- Talk to The Honorable Illa di'Sica about her travels with Princess Aranda Markelhay, Terradius, and Major Voisin. Find out information about about the Wintes family, and the location of the portal stone they discovered when leaving the Temple of Orcus. It apprears to have been moved to Winterheim, the Winters' family holdings.

- Send a messenger asking for admittence to Winterheim.

Harvester 7th

- Messenger arrives back from Winterhiem with permission to enter the Winters' lands and visit with Countess Bella Winters.

Harvester 8th

- Travel to Winterhiem, stopping of in Baron Barakas's Barony, taking in the multitude of races working together toward mutual ends.

Harvester 9th

- Arrive in Winterhiem, escorted to the Countess's estate, heavily guarded. Taken to a side room and left for nearly an hour, steward greets them and tells them the Countess is unable to see them, group gets upset, threaten steward, and he is forced to take them to her. Darosch stays in the room. Others make their way to the Countess room, to find her, and another Winters there, she is sick with the same affliction that killed Dollum Winters, a curse of Orcus. Steward runs downstairs to warn the guards, Darosh makes his way outside into the hall to see the steward leave out the doors and the guards put their hands on their weapons. Darosch roars, guards exit doors. Upstairs, the other Winters in the room a young male of the household, draws a dagger to finish off Countess Bella Winters as the group gets too close to answers. He is subdued by The Hermit. Countess is able to answer their questions, how she stole the portal stone from her sister, the turncoat Winters informs them that he has poisoned her, given a potion by a contact with the Kamroths, and that the portal stone was left for Winters to steal in order to bring a gate way to their estates. Party moves Bella Winters for her and her unborn childs safety, unsure what to do with her yet, and the traitor is tied up. 

- Heading down stairs, they encounter wraith guardians in the basement, a battle ensues in which the party is victorious, the portal stone is destroyed and they make their way outside. Guards await, but are ordered to stand down by Countess Bella Winters, the traitor names names, and the steward and the guards start a hunt for the turncoats in Winterheim. Two of the guards present are co-conspirtors and gathered up by the party. They make their way out that evening back to Fallcrest. Countess Bella Winters gets worst by the hour.

Harvester 10th

- Arrive in Fallcrest, and immediatly take Countess Bella Winters, the traitor, and the two guards before an emergency nobles council. Everyone house is present except the Kamroth's and di'Witts. Bella tells her story of her sisters actions, the traitor confirms she is suspect, and the council deciedes to bring her in for questionning as ordered by the Duke and Duchess. It is agreed the party will do the deed and if she resists, her guilt is assumed. 

- Darosch prays for guidance from his god, as to if he should save the life of Bella Winters and her unborn child through the use of The Scale of Bahamut. An Archon visits him, repeating the tenents of the faith. Darosch performs the ritual and brews the curative tea. It is given to Bella, who thanks him, asks for last rites, and passes away, her pregnant belly disappearing as her last breath is given. Bahamut has granted her peace that she didn't know in life. At the same time Darosch talked to the Archon another appeared to Emesha Talon Priestess of Bahamut asking her to take on the child of Bella Winters and carry it to term. Emesha agrees and becomes eight months pregnant, she is told the child is a blessed of Bahamut and shall bring about great things.

Harvester 11th

- Group makes their way to the Kamroth estates in the Lower Quay, assisted by several other Knights of Fallcrest to secure the surrounding grounds. The gates are barred, and a steward in the livery of the Kamroths answers their summons. He lets them in, the grounds are taken up by large tents, the first few appear to have housed guards or mercenaries, checking out another tent, The Hermit sees a mercanry ogre inside and a great battle ensues, with the steward changing into a blue skinned Oni. The group is victorious after a hard fought battle and they now make their way to the very doorstep of Kamroth's stronghold…
