Geiger Counter
A Wattz Electronics H-Radz model Geiger Counter. This hand held device allows the user to measure the amount of radiation present in an area, item, or person, from a short distance away. This model also allows for the sensor to be detached and placed away from the hand-held meter (such as outside the door of a fallout shelter). Geiger counters make a familiar ticking sound when radiation is detected by it. The more radiation there is the faster and louder the ticking becomes. Useful for walking in areas with high amounts of radiation or swimming/wading irradiated waters which can both be lethal or hazardous to health. The Geiger Counter has a limited amount of charges, which are depleted as it is turned on and off. Weighs 4 lbs.
The Geiger Counter tells the user how irradiated an area is (lightly, moderately, highly, or severely), or how powerful a radiation source is (lightly, moderately, highly, or severely).
