This information modifies the chart on page 29 titled “Detailed Character Creation Summary.” All characters are magi for purposes of this chart.
1. Pick a Concept
Skip this step. Your character is 15 years of age, with no memory of life prior to the start of the campaign.
2. Hermetic Magi Only
Do not choose a House. Farrani wizards belong to one of the five SCHOOLS.
5. Early Childhood
Your Native Language is “Common.” You cannot spend any of these experience points on (Area) Lore. You cannot start with an Ability rated higher than three, except in those Abilities related to language.
6. Later Life
Skip this step. You do not have a “later life” period; your apprenticeship began immediately after your early childhood.
7. Hermetic Magi Only: Apprenticeship
You have a score of zero in the two Forms dictated by your School, in one Form of your choice, and in each of the five Techniques. You do not have access to additional Forms unless you purchase them with experience points.
You only acquired 160 experience points during your ten-year apprenticeship. Divide these between Hermetic Arts and any non-Supernatural Abilities (or Supernatural Abilities, if you have the relevant Virtue). You can purchase scores of zero in additional Forms at the cost of 10 experience points each. You cannot start with an Art rated higher than 10 or an Ability rated higher than three.
Take 80 levels of spells, of no higher level than Technique + Form + Intelligence + Magic Theory + 3. In no case can you start with a spell higher than 20th level.
8. Hermetic Magi Only (Optional): Years After Apprenticeship
Skip this step. The campaign begins immediately after your tenth year of apprenticeship.
Your character does not begin with any equipment.
