Varis said he was called by St. Cuthbert to work at the church in Winterhaven so he told the group he would be staying while they kept on adventuring.

Gorlock, Zargon, and Aramar left Winterhaven to check on other leads on the whereabouts of Travek.

The rest of the party decided to speak with Bairwin, the local merchant and see if he was the one the gnome at the dragon burial site spoke of. The plan was to send Ertnet in with the mirror to Bairwin and question him while the rest of the group waited outside. Ernet showed the mirror to Bairwin who immediately insisted it was his and needed to be given to him. Ernet resisted but Bairwin snatched the mirror from him and escaped to a secret basement chamber through a passage in the back room.

The rest of the party entered and they went downstairs where they discovered a small sanctuary and several cult members waiting for them. A fight ensued, the party killed all cult members, including Bairwin. They recovered the mirror and discovered a secret room that contained shelves with a few jars with eyes and hands in them. They also found a note:

Your latest shipment should meet the keeps needs for the next several weeks. Everyday I come closer to deciphering the incantation that will open the gate. When Agrid returns with the mirror, as I am sure it is at the burial site, get it to me immediately. I believe it with greatly aid me with the incantation.
Have any of your men had any luck finding the relic? I would love to present it to our Lord when He is released.
We had a few visitors from Nulb visit. They said things coming along quite well with the Temple.

The party told him of the note they discovered and told him of concerns of some bigger plot going on. He suggested they continue to investigate, but asked them to meet at the tavern that evening for a the continuing celebration of the Festival of Kingston…..
