The Dark Cathedral, Descent into the Dark, Session Twenty One
A new day comes to me with much on my mind, while the heroes are fighting for every inch surrounded by evil. I sent runners, spoke with fellow Harpers, and ate my morning meal. I hurried to prepare for my scry, and looked forward to seeing what the day would bring the party of four. As I viewed them from afar, I took note of their surroundings. The heroes stood looking over a cliff that fell away into the darkness. The party prepared a rope, and secured it to a stalagmite. Grog began his descent to the bottom of the cavern, as Grimlock archers assaulted the party from across the chasm. Grog was struck by what appeared to be a tanglefoot bag, but he did not let it deter him. Grog was able to break free and climb back up as Twexlin and Cha’ti attacked the archers with arrows and magic of their own. The two groups of combatants traded blows across from each other. It wasn’t until Grog took the rope and leaped across to a shelf opposite of the heroes while using his featherfall magic to safely get across. Grog was able to secure the rope but as he dropped from the shelf and swung himself into a tunnel opening he was assaulted by a new comer. A savage hulking Grimlock duel wielding with daggers in each hand struck the half-orc. The two tumbled off the edge, Grog floating to the bottom as the barbaric Grimlock leaped fearlessly to the bottom. As Grog toed it up with the savage Grimlock, Twexlin fired well placed shots into his enemy and Nyphystra made her way across to the adjacent shelf. Cha’ti tried to help Grog with magic spells by summoning a black bear to flank the enemy. The fight was well fought and took its toll on the party, but they had not made much progress.
